VENEZUELAN CITIZENSHIP

Who is eligible for a Venezuelan Citizenship?

  • Must be over 21 or apply with parent if underage .- Foreigners that declare their will to be Venezuelan that have resided in Venezuela,
    uninterruptedly, during the five years preceding said declaration. Or underage foreigners that have resided in Venezuela, uninterruptedly, during the five years preceding the declaration and to the date of naturalization of their father or mother. And their parents exercising parental authority over them, declare their willto be Venezuelan, before they reach twenty-one years.
  • Reside in Venezuela uninterrupted for ten years or five years in the case of those who have the original nationality of Spain, Portugal, Italy, Latin American and Caribbean countries,
  • Foreigners who marry Venezuelan, since they declare their will to be, after at least five years from the date of marriage

Venezuela Residency Requirements

(Temporary Pass Visa)

The applicant must present the following precautions to any of the Consular Missions of the Embassies or the Consular Offices of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela:

      • Fill out the Visa Application Form,
      • Original passport, with a minimum of six (6) months of validity, prior to the date of travel. This document must have at least two blank pages.
      • Photocopy of the pages of the passport where your personal data, validity and photo appear.
      • One (1) recent photograph, front, color, white background, size 2 × 2 “(without glasses and without a hat).
      • Marriage certificate (original and copy),
      • Birth certificate if they are for children under 18 years of age who are not emancipated.
      • A photocopy of the ticket or itinerary of the flight (indicating date of entry and exit of Venezuela, name of the airline).
      • Current Money Order for US $; on behalf of: Consulate General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
      • Any other document that the Consular or Consulate Section considers pertinent.

To apply for the consular visa in their country of origin, they must also send
copies of:

    • Round trip air ticket.
    • Proof of reservation of the hotel where you will be staying or original letter of invitation from Venezuela notarized, containing the details of the person making the invitation, address and telephone number and details of the guest.
    • Criminal record certificate or police letter
    • International certificate of yellow fever vaccine, rubella and measles vaccine.
    • If several people travel, family constitution or names of member.

      • Visa requirements for Venezuelan citizens are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on citizens of Venezuela.
      • As of January 2019, Venezuelan citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 138 countries and territories, ranking the Venezuelan passport 35th in the world in terms of travel freedom according to the Henley Passport Index.
      • Venezuelans do not require a passport when travelling to Argentina, Brazil and Chile, as they are allowed to use their ID card (Cédula de Identidad) instead.
